Banks and Corporate Office Cleaning: Following OH&S Standards in Cleaning and Disinfection13 July 2020
Banks are often filled with clients and customers who are doing and processing crucial financial transactions. Corporate offices are also packed with employees and corporate managers and officials who are interacting from time to time. Meetings, which are conducted through face-to-face interactions, are always done on both mentioned facilities.
Cleaning and disinfection these days are vital in making the work environment a safe place to manage transactions, conduct meetings, and perform important company tasks. Embracing the new normal can be difficult. However, following the Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) standards in cleaning and disinfecting these spaces would allow businesses to resume operations without risking anyone’s lives and can ultimately save people from acquiring any contagious or deadly diseases.
To make sure that your bank or corporate office is clean and sanitised, here are some cleaning and disinfection processes that must be done in accordance with the OH&S standards.
Banks and corporate offices are equipped with different types of floors. Some of the most common types of flooring on these facilities include tile floors, concrete floors, and carpet floors. All these floorings must be vacuumed to remove any dust, dirt, and any other types of debris. Afterward, the surface of tile and concrete floors must be scrubbed with a compatible cleaning solution to clean them thoroughly. Once they are dried out, they must be scrubbed or mopped again if there are still stains visible.
Vacuuming the carpet flooring must be done regularly. Banks or corporate offices that have carpet flooring must be vacuumed every day since it tends to collect dust and particles more often than other flooring types. Regular washing is also a must for carpets to avoid discolouration and staining. Small spots of dirt can be cleaned by hand scrubbing with a light detergent solution. A powered carpet cleaner, like a steam cleaner, must be used in deep cleaning the carpet flooring.
Surfaces and objects that are found on banks and corporate offices must also be cleaned and sanitised all the time. High touch surfaces like tables, chairs, doorknobs, handles, light switches, countertops, phones, and keyboards must be cleaned by wiping cloth that is dipped into a soap-water solution. These surfaces must then be applied with disinfectant to kill germs, dirt, and impurities. Carpeted floors, rugs, and drapes must also be cleaned with soap, water, or any appropriate cleaners that will not damage them.
Some key areas of banks or corporate offices that must be cleaned and sanitised regularly include pantries, workstations, meeting rooms, lobbies, and restrooms. Restrooms are classified as a high-traffic area, which means cleaning and disinfecting these rooms must be done in short intervals.
Both internal and externals windows of banks and corporate offices must be clean to allow more natural light, preserve appearance and quality, and prevent the accumulation of dust, allergens, and other harmful contaminants. To clean the windows, you must dilute a window cleaning solution with water in a moderate size bucket. Then, the diluted window cleaning solution must be applied to the window. Any presence of debris that has already attached to the windows must be removed through a scraper. The glass of the window must then be dried out with the squeegee. Finally, dry microfiber cloth must be wiped down to the edges of the windows to remove any remaining dirty spots.
All these processes, together with the use of personal protective equipment and appropriate cleaning tools, can effectively result in a bank or corporate office that is free from dirt and diseases.
