Ozone Generators: How they Work and Why They’re Ideal for Mal-Odours around Garbage Compactors

Compared to silent corona discharge, this specific method is less efficient and is not truly enough to purify the surroundings.

As previously stated, garbage compactors can reduce the amount of mal-odours that they produce whenever garbage materials are compacted or crushed. However, these odours do not truly go away. But With ozone generators, though, the odours can be removed in some ways. There are ozone generators that can mask the odours of the garbage through the release of ozone. Others, on the other hand, are intended to thoroughly destroy odours and the microbes responsible for the foul smell.

Given their abilities, ozone generators can truly work well with garbage compactors. Aside from mal-odours, these generators can also remove some volatile organic compounds like cooking oils, cleaning agents, and others that can all be found on garbage materials.

Precautions about Exposure to Ozone

Placing ozone generators near garbage compactors can truly remove the bad odour from garbage materials. However, experts warn that the use of these generators must be moderated. Exposure to high levels of ozone can be dangerous for one’s health since ozone is still a toxic gas that can trigger eye, nose, throat, and lung irritation. It can also cause cough and shortness of breath. People with asthma must also refrain from inhaling too much ozone as it can be dangerous for them.
